I received a save the date, but I won't be able to make the special day...
We are so sorry to hear you can’t make it! Please be sure to reach out to Andrew or I directly, as soon as possible, so we can plan accordingly.
What date do I need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP by the deadline listed on your formal invitation - October 10th. Due to our limited venue space, we won’t be able to reserve your seat without a response. If we do not hear from you by the deadline, we’ll assume you’re unable to attend. We truly want everyone we love to be part of this special celebration so please RSVP as soon as you are able to!
How many people are invited in my family? Are my children invited?
When you RSVP through our website, you will be able to see all members included in your party!
Can I bring a guest or plus one?
If you’ve been given a plus one, their name will be included on your formal invitation; their name will also appear below yours when you RSVP through our website! If a guest name isn’t listed, we are truly sorry, but please understand that while we would love to include everyone our venue has very limited capacity. We appreciate your understanding! If you think a mistake has been made on your reservation, please reach out to Andrew or Caitlin as soon as possible!
What is the dress code?
We kindly ask our guests to dress in cocktail attire, a sophisticated choice that offers the ideal balance — more elevated than semi-formal, yet more relaxed than black tie. For more details on the requested attire and color palette for our special day, please refer to the tab above labeled "The Dress Code". Ladies, please avoid wearing light champagne, white, or cream. We also kindly ask that no jeans or shorts are worn. Thank you! We can't wait to celebrate in style with you all!
My invitation said this is an "Unplugged Ceremony". What does that mean?
An unplugged wedding ceremony is when the couple asks guests to refrain from using phones, cameras, or other devices during the ceremony. The goal is to create a more intimate, present, and distraction-free environment—for both the couple and their guests.
What this means — Please, during our ceremony, put your phones and cameras away. We want everyone to be IN THE MOMENT WITH US! I promise the fantastic photographer we hired will get all the pictures we need and we can't wait to share all of those with you!
Phones and cameras at the cocktail hour and reception are encouraged though! Join us in capturing all the fun moments of the evening, just make sure to share them afterwards! :)
Please plan accordingly, your phone will likely be put away for about 45 minutes at the start of the wedding.
Where are the ceremony and reception being held?
All wedding events will be at the Baha Mar Resort.
The ceremony will be held inside the enchanting Waterside Chapel. Immediately following the ceremony, guests will flow outdoors to the adjacent Hibiscus Lawn for cocktail hour. The outdoor reception will be held across the resort on the lush tree-lined private Baha Bay Lawn overlooking the ocean! Wedding guests will be guided to each venue space on the day of by our wedding coordination team and by directional signs placed throughout the resort. You can also refer to the tab "Our Wedding" above for additional details on the times and location of each event.
What time should I arrive to the wedding?
Please arrive by 3:45, which is slightly earlier that the ceremony start time. Due to the design of the chapel space, once the ceremony begins, no late entrances will be granted.
Will there be food?
Of course! At the cocktail hour, there be a variety of passed hors d'oeuvres and favorite small bite dishes hand chosen by Andrew and Caitlin. The reception dinner will include a delicious four-course meal, with special menu selections for children in attendance! If you have any food allergies or meal preferences you would like our caterer to accommodate, please let Andrew or Caitlin know as soon as possible!
Will there also be drinks?
Heck yes! We are ready for all of our friends and family to come celebrate us becoming The Wendts! There will be a premium open bar at both the cocktail hour and the duration of the reception. Come ready to have a good time but please drink responsibly. If you aren't stumbling up to your own hotel room, please make sure you have transportation planned for that evening and that your kids are covered! We want all of our loved ones to make it back to their hotel rooms safely!
Any recommendations on what I should pack to bring on the trip?
Along with your wedding night best, you will want to bring plenty of swimwear, light cover ups, and nicer resort wear for the days and evenings away from the pool! You will find that Baha Mar fashion is a mix of nice beach casual outfits, to finer sun dresses with wedges or mens pressed shorts and linen button-up shirts, all the way to full glam designer moments! Just wear what you are most comfortable in! :) We also recommend packing a light jacket/sweater for the evenings, as the temperatures may drop into the 60s-70s. Try to remember all of your necessary toiletries, including sun block, as the costs for those in the Bahamas can be pretty high. We also like to pack half of a small suitcase of snacks for our daughters (think cereal bars, crackers, bags of chips, fruit pouches, things you can throw in your beach bag, etc) as simple snack items like these can be tough to find and expensive! And we find it helpful to also pack a couple of stainless tumblers, in case you want to mix your own cocktails to take poolside or to fill and keep your water nice and cold while in the sun all day!
Can I get groceries for the room?
Yes! We regularly have our drivers stop at the grocery and/or liquor stores between the airport and the resort to pick up a few extra things for the room. We have never had an issue with a driver getting upset to stop and wait a few minutes (with a fee of course)! There are also grocery delivery services, that you can schedule in advance and have ready upon your arrival, or a market onsite for additional purchases needed once you are at the resort.
